"We have made the said relocation on good ground—and believe the same to be necessary and proper." Lincoln and five members of General Assembly from Sangamon County probably leave Springfield on stage for Vandalia. Stage leaves at 6 A.M. and goes by way of Macoupin Point and Hillsboro. It completes 75-mile journey following afternoon at 4 P.M. Sangamo Journal, 11 January 1834.
