Lincoln, introduced by Gov. Buckingham, speaks in evening at City
Hall. He closes with strong appeal: "Let us not be slandered from our
duties, or intimidated from preserving our dignity and our rights by
any menace; but let us have faith that Right, Eternal Right makes
might, and as we understand our duty, so do it!" He is escorted to
his hotel by original "Wide Awake" Club.
