Lincoln writes to H. M. Wead: "Your letter enclosing ten dollars was
received today. I have just called on Logan and he tells me they have
paid the costs and will take a new trial. Be sure, therefore to send
the brief, with the authorities on it." He evidently refers to case
discussed January 20, 1852.
