Friday, January 4, 1833.Springfield, IL. | Lincoln is probably in Springfield at request of T. P. Andrews, paymaster
of U.S. Army who is paying Black Hawk War soldiers. "Thecompany
officers are requested to attend early on the first day . . . as information
not furnished by the Muster Rolls, is, in many cases, required, and absolutely
necessary, to insure payments to the companies." Lincoln received about $125 for his
